Trial of Lotus is a social deduction game set in a Chinese mythology-inspired realm, for 6–12 players.
Spirits of the forest are summoned to help Jade Lotus through a series of sacred Trials on her path to ascension. Each round, players are divided into Sun and Moon groups, secretly submitting Pure or Tainted Heart Tokens to determine the fate of each Trial.
The pure-hearted spirits must deduce who among them are the hidden shadows — deceiving, manipulating, and corrupting from within. The evil shadows, led by the cunning Black Fox, must taint the Trials and fracture trust before Lotus can ascend.
Every character carries a unique role and ability. Every Trial reveals new information. Every decision could change everything.
Only one side will shape the fate of the forest.

Want to see a new Deluxe edition? Join the wishlist and help me make it possible. The metal tokens are expensive to produce, so I need enough interest to bring them back at a sustainable price. Every sign-up helps me take the next step.

Metal tokens, up close.
The signature Deluxe upgradeThe gameplay and gold-foil cards are the same. Deluxe’s main upgrade is the token material: metal pieces with a satisfying weight, distinctive shapes and intricate detailing.
Pictured: the original Moonlit Deluxe Edition, a Kickstarter exclusive limited to 300 copies and no longer available. Any future Deluxe release would be a different edition; the details are still taking shape.
Why aim for 2,500 wishlist sign-ups?
I made the original Moonlit Deluxe in a small batch, but that first run ultimately lost money. I’d love to make a new Deluxe edition, and this time I need it to be sustainable.
The metal tokens are expensive to produce, and the components are only part of the overall cost. Packaging, assembly, fulfilment, and campaign fees all add up. Being able to manufacture a small batch doesn’t necessarily mean I can make it work at the planned price.
A wishlist sign-up also isn’t a purchase commitment. Some people may miss the campaign, their circumstances may change, or they may decide not to back once the final details and shipping costs are confirmed. That’s completely understandable, so I need a larger group of interested people than the number of eventual backers.
A goal of 2,500 wishlist sign-ups gives me a starting point for deciding whether another campaign is realistic. It isn’t the number of copies I need to manufacture, and reaching it won’t automatically trigger production. I’ll review the interest alongside updated production costs before making that decision.
